Hagar E., Creative Strategist & Designer

With a diverse background in the field of media, I help social impact organizations communicate creatively and effectively. Experienced in video production, design, journalism, and nonprofit marketing, exploring the relationship between media and social change is what energizes me most. In addition to my partnership with Buoy, I am a freelance marketer who supports clients around the world.

Prior to this work, I worked at CNN in content management and international research, and have previously held roles at Emory University, Brave New Films, and Coursera. Fluent in both graphic and UI design, as well as video and animation, my aim is to bring youthful creativity, critical thinking, and visionary passion into everything I do.

I’m also an Emory University alum with a degree in Sociology and Film Studies, where I completed my honors thesis about news media, public opinion, and criminal justice legislation in the history of mass incarceration. I hope to play a part in creating an equitable world, and when I’m not developing design collateral for progressive organizations, I enjoy traveling, rock climbing, yoga, and cooking.
